I wonder what type I would fall into? Since my "target" is $50+ (why take the risk with a small cap if you're not expecting big gains - and then diversify because reality often does not equal expectations), I guess I'm an "investor". However I did sell 1/2 my original stake right before the STB announcement (3dfx was not answering calls, I hate that for a small cap) and then was completely out for about a week a few weeks ago (same reason - not answering calls and e-mails but I finally did get an e-mail plus being out let me re-evaluate 3dfx's prospects). I actually got lucky with my timing. I'm in via STB right now and bought in at 7 1/8.

All I know is that my experience shows that a few of my picks (which I use fundamental analysis to choose) seem to do well while the others sit or drift down a little. When they do go up, it is quick and if you miss the two-three week window then you miss many of the gains.

ps - Compaq news could be negative Monday, but is it an industry problem or a Compaq problem?
