I'm going to take a look at your posts. check out Eric Von Baranov's 12 predictions for 1999. Sure to be a Big hit in Kahuna Land

now the bring up 1999 projections - thought you'd never ask so far
I seem to be hitting on all twelve cylinders. Below
are mine:

1999 Projections

1. U.S. Economy: The U.S. economy will grow at the fastest rate in 25 years.
1998 completes the low of a Jugular Cycle and the low of a Presidential
Cycle. The combination of these cycles with the emerging Growth Period will
push the economy strongly higher.

2. U.S. Stock Market: The S & P 500 will lead the market strongly higher in
the first quarter. This move will come very quick and push the Dow
Transports to new highs along with most other indexes. This will launch a
capital goods boom that will keep the market at high levels for the balance
of the year in a flat configuration. The majority of the gains will be in
the first quarter. NO CRASH

3. Interest Rates: Interest rates have struck equilibrium and should remain
in a tight range for the balance of the year after some strength in the
first quarter. The FED will take no action for the entire year. Interest
rate spreads will continue to narrow and volume in the market will dry up as
surpluses at the Federal level grow. The Federal Government will report the
highest surplus in history.

4. Commodity Prices: Oil, Gold and agricultural commodities will continue
lower. Farm profits will be very very thin. The Federal Government will
pass legislation to bail out many of the farmers - possibly buying and
storing commodities as they did in the 1950's.

5. U.S. Dollar: The U.S. Dollar will remain strong relative to the Euro and
give up ground against the Australian Dollar and possibly the Japanese Yen.
Overall the U.S. Dollar will continue to be the reserve currency and remain
stable.

6. Politics: Clinton will remain in office by very close margin, but the
"McCarthy-Starr" inquisition will expand to a purge of the sexually active
in Congress. This will be the start of a Senate Committee on Truthfulness
and Purity.

7. War: Hostilities will continue to expand around the world. War will be
the highest focus of the press. There will be great pressure on Congress to
clear the Clinton matter to show solidarity against real U.S. enemies. The
"War on Terrorism" will expand with Japan re-arming and a close alliance
between the U.S. and Britain to fight Terrorism.

8. Real Estate: The demand for high end homes - especially in California -
will continue with a 15-20% increase in prices by early spring. There will
be reports that the shortage of labor will continue to keep supply short for
years to come. The market will flatten out by fall as inventory comes on
line. Prices will remain high to balance of the year.

9. Japan: The Nikkei has a 90% chance that it has finally found a bottom.
1999 should be a strong year for Japanese stocks about 30%.
10. Mexico: Improved economic conditions in the U.S. will push Mexican
Stocks higher turning in one of the best world market performances of the
year.

11. Russia: This is a flyer. A new liberal (that is in Capitalist) strong
and popular leader will be elected in Russia. He will put in place much of
the structure that will help the Russian economy expand over the next 20
years.

12. Aliens will land and fix the Y2K problem averting a major economic
collapse.
