jim: I'm certainly not looking to put CPQ in a favorable light, but do you think that there's a possibility that a certain amount of the "shortfall" may have been due to a "conspiracy" by disgruntled channel partners to screw CPQ in an act of revenge? Perhaps that would help account for the way CPQ has handled this - were they taken by surprise?

Jim -
I am not intentionally misrepresenting anything. I apologize if I misrepresented your thinking but based on a quick review of your prior posts it looked to me like your analysis was not supported by these recent events.

There is no way this miss can be put in a favorable light. I don't know if holding back channel inventory was a smart thing - doesn't look to smart IMHO. Your post is reflecting a lack of fairness and objectivity.

My .37 earnings estimate was made in January. My crystal ball has been broken for a number of years and I have no particular insight into real earnings - that was just a game we were playing at that point.

I have tried to engage in a rational discussion on real issues with you - why do you try to characterize me as an apologist for CPQ?
