Howard,
If you want to own the stock. Keep it. Sell the puts back for a nice profit. The profit off sets the stock's loss of value. This is the most effective way to handle the transaction.

If you don't want the stock. Sell it. Keep the puts until you think stock has hit bottom and sell them before Friday.
