Yes, your current broker will know how to handle the shares. You must be sure to endorse them properly, put your account number on them, too. You can include a note indicating the symbol was changed to MDIX, but you should not have to do that. The brokerages all know how to handle these things. You will find your account is credited with the shares after a short time, and then you'll be able to sell them. If you don't do it in advance, you cannot sell them because brokers will not sell shares that are not currently in your account! The settlement period is so short there isn't time for them to sort it out. There's really no reason for you just to hold them, as long as you have an active brokerage account that you plan to keep for a while. Of course, if you are planning to switch, send them to the next broker instead, but it's not a good idea to keep them if you expect to be selling them when the stock gets over $8. <g> Could happen sooner than we think!
