Margin is a no-no... options give you the same or better effect with no house calls as long as you watch your expiry date.

To anyone, just curious how others use margin in their trading.
Jan, Susan, S.Fry (love your name!). all of you don't use margin.
I do use margin, and frankly, I wouldn't be doing as well without it. I do have a very healthy respect for the use of margin because I have seen people messed up by using too much. I try to keep my margin around 20%, sometimes 30%, but will reduce it quickly. I also have it in an account that has my long term holds, many "safe" stocks, and also have many dividend giving stocks to counter my costs for using margin.

Would like to hear how others use margin...
