Here is an Article on NWT Diamonds

Diamond developers in the NWT have been considering cummulative inpacts of there mine projects for three years, said Doug Willy, vice president of government affairs for Diavik, potentally Canada's second Diamond mine.
"our consultative program has been wide open that we hope there will be no last minute Changes"in the approval process.
But Kevin O'Reilly of the Canadian Artic Resources Centre in Yellowknife said,"we're examining all our options."
His group wants Diavik to consider more serriously an Underground mine instead of a pit mine beneath a corner of Lac de Gras.

Enviromental ISSUES will play a key Role here as the Cheviot coal mine just got shot by enviromental Groups.
