ANy opinions on how low CPQ will go in the next few days? I am fearing the worst since this was not just a business cycle problem but the way the company handled this situation. A lot of analysts got burned - and it takes a lot to win back their credibility. Look at COMS - making new lows. I think CPQ will make a new low soon - a slew of analysts will be downgrading, cutting estimates, etc. Wonder what a good support might be to step in and pick up a few.

El...The next days will be interesting....

1. Which analysts will lower before and which will lower
after CPQ forward looking statements?
2. SSB had CPQ as #1 pick for 1999...their response should be interesting.
3. Responses from DELL, IBM, HWP, GTW?
4. Any guess as to what the volume will be on Monday?
5. Will CPQ announce share buy back in next two weeks?

victor is correct in saying that the absolute profit picture
is better that last Q1...however, maybe there was more hope
for future expectations, last year.
