>>>the next days will be interesting<<< I think you have "interesting" and "agonizing" confused. I think that most of the analysts will hammer CPQ immediately on the theory that since CPQ keeps them in the dark and lies to them, why should they wait for the cc. revenge enters the picture here, imho. CPQ announced a stock buy back a year ago this month. Don't know if they ever bought any shares. I look for record volume on Monday. 80 million or so shares. El

I agree with ya, Mr. D. The rhetoric will be deafening and unceasing on Monday. I vow not to listen to CNBC that day. Maria will drive me wild with her prediction (in these exact words) that "Compaq's stock is expected to be pressured by the news."

By the way, I want to mention how much I enjoy this thread. Have to grin every time I see that *jajajajajajajajaja* It's good to maintain a sense of humor in times of adversity. Also, this thread's criticism of Compaq's leadership sounds EXACTLY the same as the commentary about the CEO of CompUSA over on the CPU thread. Same grim but still sometimes amusing humor.....the shafted CPU shareholders must have written your script!

I bailed out of CPU stock twice, once at a loss, once at a tiny gain. Hope I don't have to bail out of CPQ, but for now I'm going to stick with it. I only need for it to go up to $31 to make a profit, although my heart bleeds for those who are in at much higher (and older) valuations. Thanks for posting such good comments, everybody.

El, let's take a weekend poll on the CPQ "Sell Imbalance" Monday morning! Since you won the earnings estimate poll! Howie
