all you did was delete the icon, right?

not a problem.

using win95 (sorry, i don't have 98) go to the file manager... that's start, find, files or folders.

type in my briefcase and click find now.

it'll show up.

then, if you want to put the icon back on your desktop, just right-click my briefcase while in file manager and choose create shortcut.

you should have it right back the way it was.

win98, if it's different from the above, probably isn't much different. i hope. good luck!

I realize you already have your briefcase back but if it happens again try right clicking on your desktop, select new and then briefcase. This works for me in 95, I'm not sure about 98.
