Apratim: <then would be the time for the options to fall dramatically> After Intc earnings are out, and both the uncertainty and the implied volatility therefore decrease.....at this time, if the dell equity price is still depressed, (and everything else being equal), the put premiums would then fall dramatically. Am I understanding what you are saying, more or less?
'''''Also, when you speak about the mentality of a put seller, I assume you also mean that you do not like timing, in general. With your extensive agility with options, aren't you tempted to consider selling puts early monday---or course, depending on what is actually happening.
'''''I would be very interested in how you might describe the mentality of a put writer, versus a call writer. I am not willing to short a Dell, but I am willing to write deep in the money calls, as other people are shorting. I call this MY "mentality".
'''''Anyway, only if you have time. and tia.

bgr....put it here...

us put sellers are a bit mental...but you "put" it perfectly..

go back to 2/17...max fear day...01120 dell put premium up 8 from previous day on a point by point move down with the underlying...next day stock flat, put premium down about 4....01120 now 01 60...premium never reached 2/17 value of 52(26 post splt), even with stock dropping extra 7 points over the next 5 weeks....

the traders on days like these are caught like a deer in the headlights....freeze...realize the over reaction...and normalize...

we are the bullish of the bulls...for we oft times double down on the common or deep in the money calls...for the inevitable ride up...
and worst case roll forward or own a lotta stock you like at a price lower than what it would of cost you...it's a beautiful thing...that's why bears don't rattle me...
