Actually I have visited Cornell where my first Ph.D. advisee was teaching. He thought it was a cakewalk (compared to U of Illinois UC, and was promoted to Associate Professor after only two years as an Assistant Professor. He told me the students got off easy there. But it is a lovely lake, although a bit cold. Cornell is a really great university -- especially in physics.
