In case anybody is interested, the hike in cheese prices last year really did happen, just as the company management said it did.

I work for a company that uses lots of cheese in our products, and prices were quite high last year, but have dropped to more normal levels this year. It seems that farmers decided to focus on selling milk, etc. to higher margin markets like ice cream, etc.

What does that mean for shareholders? With lower cheese prices, margins will be better in 1999.
