Andy,

I came to this thread looking for an answer to the question of why win98 is so much slower than 95. Doesn't seem like they added that much to it -- just a bunch of features. I recently switched back to 95 and was really surprised by how snappy it is compared to 98. (I'm running a 300MHz Celeron). I switched back because I hate and resent the "view as a web page" feature that you have to disable for every folder if you prefer it the old way, but now that I see the difference in speed I would stay with 95 just for that.

Would you mind lending your expertise to this question? I'm going to post your response on the Computer Learning thread where some inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks,
wily
