APRIL 21, 1999
Third Eicon Office Opens to Meet Increasing Demand for ISDN in Greater China
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Eicon Technology today announced the opening of
a new China office, located in Beijing. The Beijing office is
being opened to expand Eicon's existing presence in Greater China,
in response to heightened interest throughout the region in
advanced telecommunications solutions.
In recent months, companies in China have become increasingly
interested in using ISDN as a business tool for high speed access
to corporate networks and the Internet. Eicon's Beijing office,
along with existing offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong, will
address the communications needs of over ten million small- to
medium-sized enterprises now operating in China.
"The opening of the Beijing office is a logical extension of
Eicon's ISDN market leadership position around the world," said
Ken Gingrich, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing
Operations, Eicon Technology. "This expansion offers tremendous
growth potential for us - and our business partners - in providing
remote access solutions to the Chinese business community."
"This is another sign of Eicon's commitment to providing leading
edge remote access solutions in both the ISDN and WAN markets to
Greater China's telecommunications industry - the fastest growing
sector of its kind worldwide," said Nathalie Robitaille, Marketing
Manager, Greater China. "Eicon Technology, with its rapid
worldwide expansion, has established extensive and close business
relations with its Chinese customers."
The Beijing office will serve as the regional headquarters for
Eicon's sales, marketing and support efforts throughout Greater
China. Eicon has operated in this market for several years and
currently holds a dominant position as a supplier of remote access
solutions to the Chinese banking industry.
The new Eicon Beijing office is located at Century Square A722, 99
Wangfujing Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, 100006, People's
Republic of China. The main telephone number is 011 86 10 6526 9647.
