" I have read posts from Serbs in Yugoslavia that are quite
clearly distasteful of him (remember Milo is the President of Yugoslavia, not Serbia"

I've read hundreds of posts from Americans who are quite clearly disgusted with Bill, does that mean NATO should start bombing the US to encourage the American people to rebel? Hey, that's not a bad idea.

NATO shouldn't bet the house on the "isolation" theory. In our short term history look at Iraq. Iraq is still defiant despite all miltary and economic efforts. Based on a MSNBC article I read, history shows that nations that are under attack tended to unite and support their leader more fiercely ; irregardless of whether they liked him to start with. Based on the rock concerts, U.S. flag burning in Belgrade I would tend to argue that public opinion is not waning; at least for now.

Also Yugoslavia is not alone. Their slavic brothers to the north are still supporting them politically. Yeltsin's warning against NATO ground troops is a real line in the sand; he's reacting to the public's outrage at the NATO ground forces as well as his possible impeachment. If we're not careful we may divide Russia over this and cause a return to communism.
