BMPI again I issue caution here. This was posted on the Cooler over the weekend. You might want to check this out. Nescom out- The Cooler @ ecooler.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BMPI - STAY AWAY! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Go back to eCooler Network ] [ FAQ ] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by FastPing on April 11, 1999 at 14:17:06: So, you think BMPI is a good stock just because KEY in #stocks said so and included a conversation with the CFO of BMPI? Let me tell you something. Based on what I know about KEY, he has never in his life called the companies he picks! I further investigated BMPI's financials and found some interesting things. If KEY did this much research, he would have found out this company is on the verge of bankruptcy. This was taken form the companies profile on their website that KEY has so kindly included in his "DD" (http://www.biosearch.com/history.html) "In order to remain a viable business, sustaining cash flow through cost reduction and avoidance has remained a top corporate-wide priority. Incremental spending reductions were put into effect as lower production volumes for the older line products continued. In 1994, the Company completed negotiations with a large medical products company and formed a strategic alliance for the purpose of increasing sales volumes. The arrangement provided the Company with cash which was desperately needed to maintain longer term operations. The strategic alliance was with Sherwood Medical Company ("Sherwood") a leading manufacturer and marketer of medical products and a subsidiary of American Home Products Corporation (NYSE: AHP), a New Jersey based diversified healthcare company." OK sounds good right?? Guess what?? When I was reading the March 31, 1999 SEC fillings I found this: "REVENUES: Revenues of $1,295,000 for 1998 were approximately $641,000, or 33% lower than revenues of $1,936,000 for 1997. The sales of the old line disposable products declined slightly during 1998, however the overall sales were negatively impacted by the loss of the Sherwood business during 1998 and the loss of the Smith Industries Medical Systems business after all existing purchase orders where completed in June 1998 and no other purchase orders were issued." Looks like they loss their most important alliance!! Uh oh!!! If you read their financials even more you see how much money they are lossing, and you will agree that this company can't afford to be in business. I hope you all stay away from BMPI and KEY for now on. KEY is a scammer!!! Thank you for taking the time to read this, FastPing
