TGPTNDR - <I would submit that the AMD roadmap is now about 6 Mos.(design & mfgr. time) behind INTC,>

It has seemed to me for quite some time that the synergy between design and manufacturing capability has been somewhat suspect. If AMD has indeed reduced this delta, I have wondered if they are making more progress in the design arena, while trying to hang on by the skin of their teeth implementing the designs into manufacturing.

My gig is the die on wafers side of this equation, and I just can't help speculating that the manufacturing side of AMD's roadmap is extremely aggressive with little margin for error, or even a little bad luck.

I can't help but notice that Intel gets slammed in some camps for not having a 7th generation core design out this summer. However, Intel reportedly has a capable .18 process out same time frame, and a scheduled 7th generation core sometime next year. In contrast, AMD has a 7th generation core design that may make to the manufacturing floor this summer on .25um on a very large die. It will be interesting to see which strategy works out best.

I also still have a big question mark about K7's chipset and motherboard support in the near term.

I will say, if AMD hits $10, I will probably pick some up.

re: "If not, I see downside to $10.00, but expect to be buying all the way down."

From the way the stock has behaved very lately, there may be a lot of money on the sidelines waiting for that precipitous drop. I suspect we both know what that probably means.
