STOCK-PICKERS CORNER

Please give me (and perhaps others) some alternatives to averaging down at $25 or lower in COMPAQ. Only your surest bets, please.

The last few posts suggesting sectors and specific companies is appreciated. Can we have more of the same before Monday.

Also, what are posters views on a major correction, at least in the tech sector, triggered by COMPAQ news and perhaps poor Intel results?

To get discussion going, and FWIW, some TA analysts are calling for a correction to begin as early as next week. (The Jerry Favours people are 100% in cash and think that 4 out of 7 days of 1,000 or more declining stocks - including last Friday - will signal such a correction).

Joe: Obviously, I'm way behind on the posts here so this may have already been brought up, but INTC's payable date on the stock split is today with earnings and cc on Tuesday. Looks like it could be a great buying opportunity to me.
