HerbVIc: That's the catch. I think I would be happy to get out of COMPAQ for a trade of some sort at $27, but doubt that I would get that at the open and probably not for a week, at least, by which time the other boxmakers would have recovered: by then staying in CPQ for a bounce might offer equal or better chance of a percentage gain back. The other variable which makes your strategy more complex than it might be, is that COMPAQ will be doing its damnest in the next two weeks, which represents a kind of peak PR window, to talk the stock up (a) with better than 15 cents actual earnings (b) more positive guidance in any analyst meeting (c) unveiling of new enterprise strategy at the bi-annual Innovate Forum and warm statements from former DEC - ALPHA clients and new contracts with direct re-sellers (d) positive statements at the Shareholders Meeting (e) possible announcements of AV (f) announcements that the DEC merger is complete. In addition the alternative tech stocks might be having their own nervousness as their earnings come out.

I'd like to hear suggested strategies for Monday. Sell market at open? Wait a little while? Wait a long while (months maybe?) I'm in at 44 & am tempted to take the money & run. That may be panic..or good sense. Opinions please. Thanks.
