when the person in front of me in line
at the department store tries to return
three or four items, without a receipt, and
then wants to exchange instead, but there is
still an argument over the amount of credit.....

(don't laugh, this happened to me yesterday)

if nothing is annoying you, mark, you
ought to hang with me for a day.<g>

Another thing that annoys me is the line
at the grocery store check out and the numerous
ways people hold up the process:

1. They want to write a check for more than
the amount due so that they can get cash, but of course
have not followed the store's rules for doing so(this
requires a high level management conference):

2. They have three million coupons, which they forgot
to give the checker until after they've paid with a check,
and gotten their extra cash through a conference of all
management level employees on the premises;

3.They can't find their checkbook, credit card, debit card,
cash, etc. because it turns out they left their pocketbook
or wallet in the car.

4.They don't understand how to use those electronic machines
through which you run your credit card, debit card, whatever
while the checker is processing the groceries.

5. The decision as to whether to utilize paper or plastic
turns into a philosophical discussion of mammoth proportions.

6. The checker feels the great need to discuss with the other checkers and baggers in near proximity three or four issues of tagging, bagging
and/or other burning grocery store issues, in which you have no interest. This would be okay except that YOUR checker can't seem to talk and check at the same time.

(There are many more I could add to this, but I'm off to the grocery
store.......VBG)
