Joan, aren't you in the least bit thankful for gaining these new insights? History that never was. The more you try to be rational the more you end up being caught in these insane webs woven by the paranoid.

Maybe if we ignore these ravers and madmen they will go away.

You see JBE, we should be grateful to them. People who do not use words like "imo", or "I think" or, "in my estimation," are actually doing us a public service by announcing in advance of their ideas that what is contained in their bald statements is rubbish. Every thoughtful, educated person I have known always allowed for the possibility of error. Of course my sample is limited because there aren't that many thoughtful educated people around, so my sample could be flawed. Being a thoughtful educated person myself, I must allow for that.

... With a lifetime in the field, a PhD in Russian History, a doctoral dissertation on the pre-revolution, and only now have I learned the true cause of the revolution. ...

Just think of the time, effort, and money you could have saved! Surely one of your professors, texts or research materials should have mentioned this... ;^)

Well, tell us what you have learned. Capsulate the cause of the Russian Revolution. But don't leave out who footed the bill. Something all historians mysteriously do. Revolutions cost money. Wars cost money. But the history books never say who paid the bill!! Who loaned the money, in exchange for what? Let's here it.
