Gary, And Gateway just went retail. Everybody wants everyone else's business.

Dell is trying to weasel its way into the channel and has been shipping to wholesalers for awhile. Small amounts in the US. Big enough to cause a bit of a scandal in England. Over here, they are trying to get the Vanstar's and Microage's to offer their products to small businesses. You ought to ask Jim Kelly the details, as he seems to think it is significant. It may be in the future, but it hasn't been so far.

GBH:

Over in Germany and the U.K., the press has been having a field day and a lot of laughs at Dell and CPQ marketing managers slamming each other over the fact that Dell has been going after the resellers. I've seen a couple of really funny articles. Of course the protagonists didn't MEAN it to be funny. (g)

Best, Earlie
