That's a very classy offer, Nilesh, consistent with what I've seen from the Tandem contingent. I don't think anyone holds the Cupertino Division responsible for the poor - make that unsavory - performance of Compaq. Jimmy Treybig built a great company; it didn't enrich the stock holders , but the products were excellent and it was a great place to work - a corporate culture built on integrity and beer busts <g>. Great stuff.

I have to agree with rudedog on the Roel issue. He did a poor job at UB, and and only replaced Jimmy as an interim step to the cpq acquisition. Pesatori is a different issue; he played well at the customers and partners, but he has too much class to be included in the 5fer clique.

Nilesh Parikh...Thank you for the post...

I hope that your concern for shareholders is shared by
others within the CPQ corporation and you do not stand alone
in expressing your opinion.

Thank you.

Nilesh -
I knew Roel in the Unix days and also when he was at UB. He is indeed impressive, very confident, great stage presence. He is also very smart and quick on his feet. But he leaves a trail of overly ambitious commitments and poor follow-through. He was responsible for the 4Q97 channel stuffing - that's why he lost his job. That move cost you, me and other CPQ shareholders hugely.
