Tiger, the VANCOUVER SUN had an interesting piece on the Internet in today's paper. Those reporting about the the Internet in Canada often give the impression that the crowd buying Internet stocks don't know what they are doing. What I gathered from this article is the type that's buying Internet stocks understand the Internet, and can see where it can lead us in the future. Here is a small excerpt from the Vancouver Sun Article:

THE YOUNG AND THE USERS BUY INTERNET STOCKS

While Internet company stocks have surged, they are appealing to a narrow segment of the investing public, according to a Paine Webber and Gallup survey of more than 1000 investors. Only 15% own or have owned Internet stocks. Paine Webber says Internet stock buyers tend to be younger than the general investing population. Mark Sutton, president of Paine Webber's private client business suggests Internet stocks appeal to younger investors "because they are most likely to be using those companies services." And young investors, not paying for children's college tuition or facing imminent retirement, are more likely to play stocks widely regarded as risky.

Nice work on your site, I just finished playing the Garth Turner link from your site. it may have already been posted here but for those of you wondering who the h-ll Garth Turner is, here is a bit I know about him.

This from a Bio on the back cover of his book "After The Boom"

"Garth Turner was minister of National Revenue and is the author of several books on real estate and financial planning. He is the financial editor and an on-air newscaster with BBS television, a contributing editor to Canadian Business magazine, and a regular contributor to newspapers across Canada. His most recent book is Garth Turner's 1997 RRSP Guide.".

End

Garth Turner made his reputation as a real estate investment advisor
back when real estate was the cat's meow, his book after the boom
talks about how to prosper through what he calls the coming retirement crisis. It is investment advice for baby boomers who have a substantial portion of their net worth in real estate (which he nows advises boomers to get out of) anyway it is an interesting book with a different perspective.

Sorry for the long post but here it is FWIW

Tiger: I just listened again to that news report on your post here, where they said Bid.com could be on the Nasdaq April 19th. (Monday). What do you make of that report? Before that announcement they interviewed one of Canada's most senior expert on the stock market and then they lay down this Bid.com announcement - very, very interesting. That motion picture news report - I guess that could be the wave of the future in internet auction for Bid.com, hopefully. I was very surprised at the motion picture quality of the News Report, this sort of stuff will revolutionize Internet Auction.!!!
