Michael- Yes, I have experienced stocks that have taken dramatic dips. Fortunately, I had other stocks that went straight up to balance them. No investor picks all winners...it goes with the territory of investing. I could list quite a number of stocks that have gone south in a hurry for me. I do know how you feel. I have been in the red as well as the black.

I don't feel we have cause to worry about a dramatic ATHM dip. What I've read so far doesn't show a derailed ATHM. The fundamentals haven't changed. It is clearly on track to be a leader in broadband.

There is nothing wrong with taking a profit. Many investors have also kicked themselves for not doing that as well as holding on.

Good luck in your investing. Let us know when you hop back aboard.

Only scenario that would cause ATHM to dip 75%:

AT&T to dump ATHM and start something new. The chance of that happening is nil. AT&T is not crazy to spend 55 Billion for TCI.

Although Comcast could rebel against ATHM and goes to RoadRunner, its likelihood is small. It doesn't help Comcast's bottom line by doing so. The better thing for Comcast is to merge ATHM and RoadRunner so Comcast doesn't have to give up its ATHM stake. Thus, the chance of Comcast fleeing ATHM is small.

So, a 75% drop is not likely for ATHM, although a 20% drop is likely
due to a broad based market sell-off.
