Jagadish, hard question to answer. If you objective is to own a General Electric, then VISX is the stock. It is clearly dominate. The nice thing about it is that even if BEAM/ATCI make headway in equipment sales, remember there is a continuing user fee revenue stream for the systems that have been placed.

I am not going to make any recommendations here but I will tell you what I have. First, I wish I owned GE and I wish I owned more VISX.

Second, I like BEAM a lot because of their new technology with ATCI. It is still undervalued IMO, and probably needs 2 or 3 quarters to demonstrate how effective the merger will be. Actually I have more ATCI than BEAM because it looked to me like the merger terms favored ATCI at market prices when I acquired the stock.

Third, I like the providers a lot and I own LCAV mostly because it is easy to see it is undervalued. But they are not the leader. I need to develop a clear view of the providers and will probably buy into LVCI and LZRC to force myself to clearly understand the major competitors, their markets, and the relative merits. I should also mention OHSI, don't know much about them except the recent press release saying they are acquiring 12 Visx Star S2's.

Finally, I like Sunrise Technologies a lot. I own more of it than the others. It is a longer term play than the companies I have mentioned. Their LTK system treats hyperopia or far sightedness. The demographics clearly shows there are more hyperopes than myopes. SNRS has patented technology which I believe will be the procedure of choice of all the baby boomers that are finding they are starting to need reading glasses at the age of 35 or so. These are the hyperopes. I have had LTK performed on both my eyes and I know how well the procedure works. LTK also corrects the overcorrected PRK and LASIK patients less traumatically than the original procedures. SNRS has a fairly high market cap with no revenues to speak of, but it has outstanding potential.

There are others out there. I own some KERA but am disappointed in Friday's market action. I do not own Staar which has a intraocular lens that can correct vision. I don't think many people will undergo cataract surgery unless they have cataracts. There are also players like LASE mostly selling outside the US; recent run up on Friday, but not sure what the reason was.

I am not making any recommendations, but as you can see I like Laser Vision Correction business. I like SNRS, BEAM and LCAV a lot.
