nihil,
Actually Ford did not finance the revolution but was going to back Savinkoff in his plans to invade Russia with a German Army and remove the bolshevicks from power. That plan fell apart because Savinkoff was lured back into Russian by the "Trust" and was murdered. The Trust was set up as the secret alternative government to the bolshevicks but was actually set up and run by the Chekka to capture all the dissidents that flocked to it and it worked. It was one of the most successful counter-espionage operations ever run. It was created by Felix Deginski, the head of the Chekka at the time. Stalin destroyed the Trust because of his raging paranoia and need to be in control of everything. The Soviets were actually extremely good at the spy game.
