Has anyone given any thought to the kind of process that would be required to make Emile edible? I suppose it would have to start with at least a week's soaking in lye, to neutralize the acid. Then perhaps a salt bath and an extended hanging, possibly over smoldering hickory chips. Before eating there would have to be repeated boilings and discardings of stock, something like the process required for preserved shark's fin.

Even then you'd probably get nothing suited to any purpose beyond feeding the neighbors' noisy hound.
