dday, Excellent observation. WS is working "OT" trying to figure out the "Stream" and how hard it is going to flow per second. We will see if these guys (girls) didn't take their parents money for granted, or are working for establishments with other focuses.

All The Best,

Mp

Re: CDMA royalties, some clarifications: Rich_Janitor included a number in his analysis as (I recall) "$2.50 per phone." This could have been a typo. But if, for example, Mot or Noka (each of which, it has been asserted on this thread) has sourced ASICs from non-Q sources) for a CDMA phone, and if it is true that Q does not permit its ASIC licensees to sub-license, what, if any, is the basis for royalty revenues on handsets sold by Mot or Noka, where there seems to be no privity? Obviously, if the ASIC is somehow linked to Q, somewhere upchannel, Q is receiving a royalty. But the implication seems to be that some handset vendors have independently developed a functioning CDMA chip. Would appreciate input from the board. Thanks. Regards. Liacos_samui.

It's a shame you don't post more often, dday; your analysis was great. I agree that the current valuation of Q is a steal if Qualcomm proves to be a Gorilla. One of the distinguishing markings of a mature Gorilla is abnormally high gross margins, as demonstrated by intc, msft, and csco. But Q is still young; by the time the markings become visible, the stock price will be 10X today's.
