Scumbria - Ca. weather.

I've heard that this is the coldest winter anyone can remember all over Ca.

As far as the beaches go, yes they are often foggy. I moved to Ventura Co. in So. Cal. a few years back and got a place pretty much right on the beach. I was very disappointed in the perpetual fog and marine layer. Santa Monica in the LA basin was a little better. I imagine No. Cal. beaches behave in much the same way, with some years better than others.

I was never based in the Bay, but I have travelled there extensively, mostly on business. I have some cousins that live in Contra Costa and the Delta areas. I know Contra Costa Co. is much warmer and sunnier than directly adjacent to the Bay.

Just my .02. Hope you get a good summer in. I'm looking forward to one. I'm a native Oregonian, but this winter WAS THE WETTEST DAMN WINTER I CAN REMEMBER! SOG-GY!

PB

re: <Is it ever warm in Silicon Valley?>

This is the coldest winter I can remember in the 23 years I've lived here. And last year was the wettest.

<Is it ever warm in Silicon Valley? It seems like every time I have stepped out the door for the last six months I've gotten a blast of cold wind in my face.>

Isn't this the La Nina effect, the response to the warm El Nino winter we had last year?

SCUM bria - Re: " Is it ever warm in Silicon Valley? It seems like every time I have stepped out the door for the last six months I've gotten a blast of cold wind in my face. And then summer comes and the beaches get frigid with fog. Is this normal?"

The last two or three winters have been long and wet.

Today - Sunday 4/11/99 - is even WETTER.

I do find it reassuring that your whining is not confined to just Intel's business practices.
