Hi Steve,

Thank you for enlightening message. I agree with you the potential on
QCOM is enormous. The reason I am invested in the stock is based on
the opportunity presented to QCOM and improvement on the bottom line
that the management had made. Now, once I am in it. I would look at
what are those risks since this is first time I invested in this
company.

One of the issue associated with the company as far as I can see is
why the company running such a low margin. The two factors causing
the low margin are behind us at this point. The question is how much
they can improve. I guess we wouldn't know until next couple quarter
results in. At that point, the picture may be clear.

I also realize R&D expenditure is necessary for growing the company
in the future. But, there is always a limit to it. A well run company,
like CSCO, normally has a R&D expenditure at 13% to 15% of the
revenue. So, we need to watch those items carefully.

Enough is said. I hope Qualcomm will become one of the rising star in
the next decade. The company only has 71 mil share outstanding. This
is really a good opportunity for the investors if the company
excuted well.

Cheers!
Mike

steve,

Great post. I am one of the posters who brought up the margins issue. I never meant to state that I DID NOT think QCOM could or would grow their margins. They should, so it seems. I was just reporting current income statement health. I am not a QCOM bear, just dissecting current state of financials so that when 1st Qtr earnings are released I will know what to look for .

Thanks for your informative post!
