Perhaps today will mark the beginning of better things to come. IBM has "told" the market that all is not bad for box builders. Today the market seems to be confirming that Compaq's problems are not necessarily everyone's problems. AAPL, IBM, DELL & MUEI all up so far while CPQ continues to drift.

I am not currently in MUEI (sold several months ago), but I think that the stock has seen a bottom. Good luck to all.

Jim--- I hope you are not waiting yet? There have been some things said here recently that make most people smile.
While there are people that will replace companents the technology moves so quickly it is often within a few dollars of a new machine to upgrade. The notion that warrantees are not important as most individuals in the sub $500 range want a warranty that lasts as long as possiblethen they just buy another at the 1st sign of problems.
Name recognition is the only reason APPL survived the 1st years. They practively gave them to high schools. Many people became familiar with them and are still buying them for their children today. If they did not instill this base at the beginning no one would be using them today. A huge group purchase the same machine used at work under the assumption "if out IS dept thinks it is a great machine and a bargain it must be". They also are warm and fuzzy with it at work,,, no differences at home??
Sorry but there has been a lot of talk here over the past few weeks that made little sense..
