well, you definately must be drunk. just kidding. anyway, i do not know if i agree with the delivery boy coming to your door. you get a book shipped to you the next day if you want. how much faster do you need it ?

i could see barnes and noble who has bricks and mortar to possibly do something to that effect.

Jouer, you make some good points but regiional distribution (meaning, regional warehouses) add considerable $$ to your bottom line costs. Centralized distribution is much more cost effective especially with inventory issues, but of course shipping is more. It all depends on the individual item - some things like books are so cheap inventory doesn't matter as much. Whatever happens though, right now we don't have a competitive environment in shipping and that has to change.
