David,

I have to say my experience unfortunately has been similar to yours. I did know that you had to agree to inferior comms, but I didn't realize the non-refundable deposit policy.

However, I do believe this type of comms will only improve in the future and that is what most investors must be basing their purchases on these days. Also, IMO IDTC (net2phone) will not necessarily be the benefactor of future technological improvements in internet telephony.

David, you are such an obvious liar . Net2phone wins product of the year award. Net2phone has over a million satisfied customers and poor David Wise just seems to have problem after problem? I wonder if Mr. Wise might possibly have a financial interest in seeing this stocks price go down? I mean, he claimed he was contrarian before because he didn't like the "hype" . Now what he called hype has been proven correct, so he moves on to stunts and talk about quality?

As for your crack Dave (which I consider another stunt), where you claim to wonder if Softbank has tried the net2phone product. You really must not have done a very thorough job of due diligence on this company. Had you done so, you would have discovered through information in older 10Q'a and even one news release, that Softbank has been a partner of IDTC and has been selling net2phone services in Japan for years.

Here, I'll make it easy for you:

Here is the url, nim.com.au

Now, Mr. Wise, I suggest you leanrn more about this company before making further statements. The Japanese take a long time to make decisions sometimes and their economy has been sort of screwed up but they are extremely loyal.

This makes it even easier:

<Internet Telephone Services from NTT and Softbank
PC News, September 2, 1997
Softbank and NTT Data Communications have teamed up with US based IDT to provide international telephone services across the internet. Pricing was not announced but services could begin as early as September. >

Every stock that goes up a lot gets its bashers. Luckily we have a stupid basher.

I think that's a bandwidth issue. As bandwidth gets larger the quality will get better. You must admit that we are moving in the direction of Internet phone, cable and many other areas that we now pay for separately.

David,

Technology is an evolving thing which
will never stay the same - it will improve
over time. If you based your current investment
decisions on what is being achieved today,
then you are making a big mistake...

One day, we will all be able to make
international phone calls for free. The
difficutlies that we are facing today
are only temporary.

The ultimate scenario will be "all-digital"
transmission (except for the microphone and
speaker phone of course). The current
"analog-digital-analog" technology is only
a transitory stage in the evolution - since
everyone of us has an analog phone and an
analog phoneline.

When broadband technologies (such as broadband
cable and microwave transmissions) catch up
and become commonplace among all the households,
then telephony technology will get a tremendous
boost - it will provide the speed and quality the
VoIP needed. Eventually, all the telephone exchanges
(circuit switch technology based) will be gradually
replaced by IP hops, i.e. the analog legs
at both ends of the transmission will eventually
be replaced. We will also see true "digital phone",
probably standalone or integrated with a PC-box type
of setting which will plug directly to your cable
connection or to a microwave receiver, etc...
(the "phone lines" will be history).

The VoIP will (and is now gradually) threaten
the conventional long distance giants such as
AT&T. I am sure these giants are now actively
playing catchup game by active research or by
buying out VoIP companies (such as IDTC).

IDTC has been signing up with a lot of local
phone companies in Europe to make up the "analog
leg" of the transmission. The last time I visited
their homepage, there were something like six
countries in Europe. Very soon, we can all make
phone call to everywhere in Europe for just 10 cents
a minute through IDTC - with more Asia countries to
follow soon...

The way I see IDTC is that its' value is
beyond the Net2phone IPO spine off. It also
holds tremendous value as a telecommunication
company by leveraging its VoIP technology...

If you are not a savvy day-trader to take
advantage of the ups-and-downs on Monday,
I suggest you hang on to IDTC.

If it dips below 28 on Monday, I will be
adding more to my holding...

Regards,

Lea

my sister has it for a few months and likes it. she came over to la for a few days (it's raining very hard now -- not a nice welcome to a returning sunshine girl!). she used to bug her husband for making 45 min.-each long-distance calls but now says that he can talk as much as he wants. i have talked to her many times and felt the pain of paying twice as much when it's my bill. i always "plan" to get n2p (software is already downloaded).
