August,

re: saving chile pepper seeds.

I just like to dry chile peppers in strings and leave them hanging in the doorway of my kitchen over the winter. We just break off a pepper as needed. In spring, I just shake the seeds out of a dried pepper and plant those. The germination has been almost 100%. However, I don't know just how long the seed would last beyond a year. Not a problem anyhow... the dried peppers will all be eaten pretty soon and we'll be drying the new crop from the garden by late July.
