I think NATO (or EU) has no interest in redistributing resource ownership and no interest in impoverishing Serbia once the battle's done. Just the reverse. I think everyone agrees that general prosperity is the best friend of interethnic peace.
I see little profit in trying to compensate those who have lost economically from the post-1989 loss of Kosovo autonomy, except for individual cases. Serbia and Autonomous Kosovo will both need investment and huge grants to recover and begin to grow. Significant redistribution of assets would be politically disastrous (IMHO). I'd rather see the emergency of an integrated energy community between Serbia and Kosovo run on rules consistent with eventual membership of the combined nation (Serbia (including Autonomous Kosovo), not Yugoslavia) in EU.
