A friend of mine who holds a very high position at Allstate told me the company is not purchasing any pc and related peripherals until Y2K problems are resolved. He stated that the need was there now to upgrade but the company felt it would be more prudent to wait until late 99 or early 2000 to buy. Knowing that Intel will be on track by late 99 and Rambus allowing the 700 platform I can only assume that the demand for PC related products will push demand for the Rambus chip sets in early 2000. Whatever the current estimates may be with Rambus ruvenues I feel they will far exceed best estimates by 2nd qtr 2000. I can't help but feel with the Japan economy improving and their manufacturers making the right moves now can only help the situation later on.
