EP has let the fox (EM)watch the chickens. EM has done more than blow his nose w/o EP. Read WSJ on how the previous bad news came out. I think we have an absentee landlord in EP. BTW where is the BoD? Hello, anyone home?

Uncle--- the old saying "sh*t flows down hill" it true but we all must realize when the flowing stops Sh*t rises to the top. If EP was on top of things as he should have been he would have canned em long ago. Also did you ever think his recent world travels were his good-bye vacation on us because he realized he SHOULD be canned and expects it?

Good morning Frank:

I am sure the morale of CPQ employees is at the bottom right now. The style of management of 5fer is that of an autocratic petite bourgeois european management style practiced many centuries ago. You are right that nobody can even release gas before getting 5fer written permission. Many stockholders class action lawsuits are pending which will tie up CPQ resources. One of the ways to get out from this mess is getting new CEO which will boost morale.

Paul

I doubt if Mason blows his nose without checking with the boss first
I think I have responded in some detail with what I have heard about senior management dynamics at CPQ but let me say it again - the general feeling over the last year was that EM was thumbing his nose at EP, not blowing it...

And I can tell you from my personal experience years ago, the folks on EP's staff regularly told him to pound salt. Real power brokers like Gary Stimac and Ross Cooley had so much stroke with the BOD that they were as likely to have EP fired as he was to fire them.

EP does not have the "Power of Financial Life or Death" if the board can reverse his decisions, which they can and do. Right now, it is most likely EP who is asking for permission to blow his nose.
