Asked if Softbank is taking part in a possible IPO by Net2Phone, Rieschel said, "Net2Phone has not filed for an IPO at this time. Our investment would precede that filing."

This to me means that Softbank is making a pre IPO investment in N2P. They want to do this so that they can build the value of N2P prior to an IPO. At some time in the future, N2P will be spun off to IDT share holders, N2P investors and probably an IPO to the public.

The only negative I can see to this, is that Barnes and Noble took a similar approach, and so far the stock has not seen to much "Internet Value"; although in the past few days it has made a nice run up. However, I think IP telephony will be the next big Internet wave, and we are definetely the leaders, also, SoftBank is no Bartlesmann, so we may not follow BKS's pattern.
