BigBull, Just got lucky. Yes! Underbalanced drilling is very effective whhere it can be applied... As to Iraq, there is still interest in projects with Iraq..If you produce an oil field too long without good engineering and reservoir management (I assume that Iraq has this), or at a pace greater than its maximum efficient rate of withdrawal, then you pull the water underlying the field up into the oil columnn and split th oil reservoir into a series of smaller disparate oil reservoirs.It's called "coning". If you do that then you permanently damage the recoverability of the reserves in the field, at least under current technology....
