Actually I think that the statements that Dave makes regarding he and John are simply to distance their relationship from the poorly executed WFLT/SNPX merger. That was a text book example of a bad merger. (in terms of the top executives working well together) Mr. L and Mr. S were co-managing the company.. and when you have two bosses, you have no bosses. So far, as a view from the inside, the NT acquisition of BAY is a text book example of how to do it right! .. I know that many (if not all) of my Bay colleagues would agree ... and the NT folks that I have met also have that feeling. So this time around we got it right.

It will be interesting to see how Loosent handles the descend merger. Loosent has very little experience with mergers of this type. In fact one of the former Bay execs is now running a group at Loosent ... hmmm.

I applaud House for making it crystal clear who is in charge. Does House have aspirations to be the ultimate head... probably ... but that is good news. You want people with controlled ambition.

G'day all - elmatador, I do not doubt there are differences between the two men; afterall, these are people accustomed to strong viewpoints. Having said that, I am not sure how much one wants to read into what House and Roth said [in a deep machiavelian manner. To begin with, these guys are engineers, not super saleman like Mr Chambers. Anecdotal evidence has shown that they were far from the scheming type, which is what your "John Roth is the boss" statement suggested. I mean, if they were so skilled in telegraphing, we wouldn't have the NYC debacle. Rather, like Cruiser said, House was trying to suggest that BAY has learned the lesson of Severino and Ludwick mismatch. And indeed, NT has thus far been executing the merger well, and very likely benefitting from prior experience

Just my 2c

best, Bosco
