Frank - Arrogant, yes. But I think your point goes the other way - he didn't much ask permission from Houston even though Rod was the CEO. Was Barth around when you were there? Unlike Gates and Michael Dell, EP is not chairman of the board and does not own a significant part of the equity. His autocratic style may have cost him his job. But you are right, his compensation will be "adequate" even if he is pushed out, especially if they allow him to vest his outstanding options.
