hi rick,

not sure if i get your question right... do you mean how do you do it when you are not on your mac?

the only way i know to activate the screensaver is to adjust the time setting to 1 minute so it will come on in... 1 minute. that what you mean?

if so, follow clickstream: right click desktop, properties, screensaver tab, adjust wait to 1.

this also permits you to preview other screensavers. sorry, that's the quickest (only?) way i know to activate it.

:)

anybody know how to activate screen saver in W95 manually?

Sometime ago I downloaded several free screensavers that can be started just clicking. I keep a shortcut on my desktop so that I can start my favorite whenever I want. I got most of them from ZiffDavis but it has been awhile.

Hope this helps.

Screen saver:

Here's how to do it in Win98 ...

A) Right click on Desktop
B) Select properties
C)In 'Display Properties' window click 'Screen Saver' tab
D) Click 'Preview' button and your screen saver starts

Hope this helps, PW.

This may be too late but works on 98. Go to find/type in screensaver name/right-click and drag screensaver icon to Quicklaunch toolbar/release and chose create shortcut here. Click on icon whenever you want to start screensaver. Can also find in C/Windows/System and follow same rightclick and drag/shortcut here
