The Feelings thread has always had people with widely varying opinions about everything, including religion, hanging out here, and most of the people writing here have always been Christians of some variety. I have always only hoped that everyone would struggle to stay somewhat respectful (or at least reality-based) in their discussions. I think perhaps you are referring back to the big argument which ensued over two years ago because some of us were offended by people quoting the Bible here at us. I still feel that it is rude to do that to people who have expressed discomfort or pain, and definitely, people who have been tormented by abuse at the hands of religious figures like priests and nuns, or who feel very uncomfortable about the religious persecution during the Inquisition, are entitled to feel that way, and I will continue to defend them here. Ireland seems like a million years ago, and yet it was only a week. Yes, I did have a lovely time, and I hope to go again.
