Jeff: "NVLS reports earnings before the bell Monday. If "blow out" type numbers do you see that minimizing "The Compaq Effect" on the semi equip. stocks? "

Yes, if "blow out numbers" are served and provided cc guidance is good and I have no reason to expect otherwise. Semi-equipment investors should not care if Compaq is failing SO LONG AS there is 14% growth in the PC sector this year and DRAM prices are stable. BUT watch the size of any bounce and volume in NVLS for signs of valuation concerns OVER next few days. You might have a great quarter and great guidance BUT a fully valued stock for NOW. Accumulation in NVLS and AMAT has been flat by the big boys. NOTE also the sell-off or lack of rally in companies meeting and beating their numbers up to this point. See Yahoo and GE.

Also, KLAC due to serve up their numbers this week.
