24/7 trading may not be the healthiest thing in the world, but it doesn't matter what we think. If somebody can make zillions of dollars bringing it to us, it will happen.

More importantly I hope they get rid of the market maker system. That alone will make a huge difference.

Many families will be hurt by traders addicted to trading when there's 24/7 trading. That is an issue all it's own and these people already have some serious problems. Yes somebody should help them but we can't stop progress for that. We can't take alcohol out of the world because there are alot of alcoholics. There has to be another solution for those people.

On the other hand, many people in society who are not able to use the stock market to get ahead will be able to do so. There are stock market geniuses out there who are not able to benefit from our stock market system because of the restricted hours.

However, I think the US needs to do a whole lot more scam busting before a person can make money in the stock market by just picking good stocks. My observation of the US market tells me that making big bucks by picking good companies is not really working that well.

Yet hundreds of scam companies have their stocks flying every day. I wouldn't want too many regular Joes to learn these lessons by losing all their money.

When you have a small child in the house you child proof the house. The stock market needs to be human proofed. Round up the bad guys and remove them from the scene. Sanitize the market so that it is fit to be used by real human beings.

A computerized system cannot completely be safe from manipulation. Remember humans still enter the orders. Anything can be manipulated. However computerized trading would make manipulation of stock prices much harder.
