Stefan:

Just to clarify, I do not believe Peter Lynch has ever said anything about falling in love with a stock etc. What he has said though is not to worry about the short term volatility and as long as the company's fundamentals are strong investors would gain tremendously in the long run.

DELL has stong fundamentals and despite this short term volatility the stock will be trading at much higher prices in the long run. Exactly what this long run is, that itself is of course a different stroy! But I would hope 12-18 months from now DELL will be trading at 50-60% higher than its current valuations due to huge anticipated PC sales next December/January time frame. So whether one buys DELL at $46, or $1 it does not really matter. Money is made no matter what!

I, for example, bought a bunch of DELL shares just 1 minute before the market close last Friday at $43.75/shr and 15 minutes later CPQ warned!! It has been a very frustrating weekend to think that had I waited one more minute I could not have bought any shares and could have bought more shares tomorrow (possibly). But then it does not matter. A little more gain via owning more shares does not matter in the overall big picture.
