I wonder how trading dynamics will change if the trading day is reduced to one hour (okay, maybe three hours). It would certainly get rid of the dead time between the open and close. Would volatility increase or decrease? Is it possible to get all the trades done in such a short time?

And we can all have our lives back.

Wayne - I agree - 24 hour trading is a dopey idea. It will just invite an explosion in manipulation of stocks and fraud.

For the BB's the MM's have 7 1/2 hours M-F to wreck havoc - what will they do with 24h/7d trading? What will the volumes/spreads be at 3 AM? Who will want to hold the BB's overnight?

What happens to News? Blockbuster stuff at 4 AM?

I think the only folks who want it are the crims/jerks/scum.

At 4 PM we all know where we stand. Time then to cath up on DD, etc. and prepare for the next day.

JMHO

David.
