I agree Gnet will be buying someone of some importance. Maybe they are signing the papers right now and just waiting to get the 300mil taken care of and then release earnings and then give us a stock split then make the announcement. Man it looks like 147 is a low price with all the things happening in the three weeks.

there are only so many players that can do this. so, it is POSSIBLE that it could be GNET.

I think you're right. GNET is a possible suitor. XMCM would add something that Go2Net doesn't have right now: a web-hosting "community" service. It could be tied well into the existing gaming, financial, and commerce sites. The big problem, though, is that sites like Xoom and GeoCities don't make money. The advertising+commerce business model looks particularly risky for these companies.

Would GNET be willing to take the huge hit to their bottom line in order to jump onto this bandwagon? I don't know. So far, it looks like Horowitz and Kiester like to keep the red ink off of their books, but the web-page community market might seem like a must-have part of their full-portal plans and XMCM would give them a huge boost.
